ANNUAL CAT SHOW

We hold an annual household pet cat show in February at the NAEC, Stoneleigh Park, Stoneleigh, CV8. 2LH The show is back to back with the Coventry & Leicester Cat Club & The Sphynx Cat Association. Our last show was held on Saturday 18th February 2023 and our next one will be Saturday 17th February 2024.

If you are interested in showing your Household Pet but have never shown before then a guide to what to do can be found here.

As Household Pets are judged mainly on temperament with condition, grooming and preparation also very important and "showmanship" often splitting the winner from the runner up, any cat you would like to show as a Household Pet will need to be confident and relaxed, happy to be handled by strangers and not fazed by new environments.  A guide for judges is here and it might be useful to look at it to see what judges are looking for. 

 

It might be best starting them at a fairly local show to minimise travelling for their first outing. A list of shows is on the GCCF website at https://www.gccfcats.org/show-calendar. Often show managers have a "buddy" scheme for first timers so it is always worth asking.
